ABOUT OUR PRESCHOOL MINISTRY

Our Preschool Ministry

The preschool and children’s ministry of First Baptist Church is based on Luke 2:52, which says, "And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and with people." From this verse, we provide opportunities to grow through Bible Study classes for all ages, fellowship, and programs for childhood development through a Biblical worldview. Some of our programs include: Bible study, kids worship, weekday learning programs, Awana, Vacation Bible School, camps, and preteen ministry.

Childcare during the 8:30 AM service is for children ages birth- kindergarten.

9:45 AM

Sunday School Classes for all ages

11:00 AM

During the 11 AM service we have Extended Teaching Care for Babies to Kindergarten. ETC is designed to encourage play, relationship building, and learning foundational truths about the Lord. After children are dropped, babies to 3 year olds stay in their rooms and play. A leader will share a fun song and a little foundational truth like Jesus Loves you or God made you while the children play together. For those who are 4 and 5 years old, they have Preschool Worship which they come together to sing songs, take up offering, and learn a Bible lesson. They then return to their rooms to play and possibly have a craft that goes with the Bible lesson from that day.

Children’s Choir:

This is a time where children begin learning what worship is and why we worship. Throughout the semester, choir participants work toward a Christmas program and an end-of-year worship program. Open to children ages 4–5 years old. Meets Wednesdays at 5:00 PM.

AWANA

Children ages 2–3 participate in Puggles, where they learn four foundational Bible truths: God made everything, God is great, God loves us, and we give thanks.
Children ages 3–5 participate in Cubbies, which celebrates the spiritual potential of preschoolers by helping them learn core truths about God, Jesus, and salvation.
Meets Wednesdays at 6:00 PM.

Weekday Programs

Our weekday programs provide a safe, caring, and Christ-centered environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive. Through Wee School and Creative Kids, we offer opportunities for preschoolers to develop academically, socially, creatively, and spiritually while building a strong foundation for the future. Whether preparing for kindergarten or enjoying a fun and engaging Mother’s Day Out program, each child is encouraged to grow in confidence, creativity, and their understanding of God’s love.

We take the safety of children at First Baptist Church very seriously. We ask that you take a moment and register your child through this link. When you come into the children’s building, you will check in at our Check-In Stations. You will then receive two labels one has your child’s information which you will place on them and the other tag you will keep which only has a number on it. The parent tag and child tag have a unique number attached each time it is printed. This number is checked that they match as you pick up your child. This ensures that your child can go with no other person other than the one that has that tag for the day. We also require everyone adult who works with minors to have a background check and Sexual Abuse Awareness Training before they can volunteer.

As a part of your registration for your child, we ask for an emergency contact number. If there is a point that we need to contact you about your child, we will consult their label that was printed and placed on them that day and use the emergency contact number that is attached to them. This is how we will contact a parent/guardian if necessary.

We do provide snack to our preschoolers. We provide a snack of crackers and water. Some of the older preschoolers might have a Sunday occasionally that teachers will provide a different snack, but parents will be informed of this change in advance and allergies are always taken into consideration.
