Pastor of Adult Education and Discipleship
Don Beach was born in Memphis, Tennessee. He was born to Christian parents who did not attend church with regularity. The Beach family moved frequently as his father was a flight instructor for the U.S. military. When Don was eight years old and attending First Baptist Church of Winter Haven, Florida, Mrs. Cook, his third grade Sunday School teacher, was influential in his coming to Christ. He met with the Pastor and prayed to receive Christ in his office. By the age of 12, Don knew that he was called to the ministry. Although God seemed to take second place in his life during the turbulent teen years, he knew the call was real and rededicated his life to the Lord while a student at Troy State University in Alabama.
Don graduated from Troy State University where he received a B.S. Degree in Psychology and completed minors in both Philosophy and History. After serving a tour of duty with the U.S. Navy in Vietnam, he returned to Alabama to complete his undergraduate degree and then on to Fort Worth, Texas, where he attended Southwestern Seminary and graduated with a Master's Degree in Religious Education.
Don had served several churches in Texas, Georgia and Oklahoma before accepting the call to First Baptist, Morristown. Don accepted the call to First Baptist, Morristown, in January of 2006. He brings a wealth of experience to his position as Pastor of Adult Education and Discipleship. Don has a passion for evangelism and discipleship. He hopes to see the church grow both numerically and spiritually. "We must be willing to give our verbal testimony and share Christ with others." He is an enthusiastic proponent of church growth, while at the same time believes that it is important to help believers mature in their faith. Don has served as a church growth consultant for LifeWay and several state conventions. He serves as one of LifeWay's 75 Regional Coordinators, mentoring other Ministers of Education. He has served the denomination in other positions as well.

Tammy is married to a Pastor and lives in Picayune, Mississippi. Sean, thier son, lives in Morristown, TN.
